Moral law is an invention of mankind for the disenfranchisement of the powerful in favor of the weak. Historical law subverts it at every turn. A moral view can never be proven right or wrong by any ultimate test.

This view assumes the individual as the supreme condition of humanity. “The right is the interest of the powerful,” said Thrasymachus. There are two kinds of power. Individual and collective. What is right, is the contest between them.

This seemed poignant in light of weekend events and the general negative churning marching around the planet.

It makes no difference what men think of war, said the judge. War endures. As well ask men what they think of stone. War was always here. Before man was, war waited for him. The ultimate trade awaiting its ultimate practitioner. That is the way it was and will be. That way and not some other way.”

Half of Waking Hours Are Now Devoted to Entertainment

Say what? I am trying to wrap my mind around this and what it might mean.

That this 45 stands a chance of getting re-elected is beyond comprehension to me…

Katherine Faulders, Alexander Mallin, and Mike Levine of ABC News reported today that sources have told them that former president Trump shared information about U.S. nuclear subs with Anthony Pratt, an Australian billionaire who was a member of the Mar-a-Lago club. The sources say Pratt then shared that information with at least 45 others: more than a dozen foreign officials, his own employees, and a few journalists.

Made this last night and it was terrific! Served over chickpea pasta. Highly recommend as a healthy creamy sauce. Pretty easy to make.

Creamy High Protein Broccoli Pasta Sauce

Prep Time: 15 minutes | Cook Time: 20 minutes | Servings: Yield: 4 servings

Ingredients: ½ tablespoon olive oil 1 large shallot, chopped 2 garlic cloves, chopped 5 cups broccoli florets 8 oz pasta, I used Campanelle ½ cup cottage cheese ¼ cup shaved parmesan cheese ½ teaspoon white pepper

Directions: Bring 2 pots of water to a boil. Salt one of the pots (for the pasta). While the water boils, heat the olive oil in a skillet over medium-low heat. Saute the shallots and garlic in olive oil until softened. Then turn off the heat and set aside. Once the water boils, cook the broccoli for 7 minutes, just until soft to fork. In the other pot of boiling water, cook the pasta in salted water for about 8-9 minutes, until al dente. Drain when done cooking and transfer to a large bowl. When the broccoli is done cooking, drain, reserving ¼ cup of the cooking water. Add the cooked broccoli, cottage cheese, parmesan cheese, and the sautéed shallots and garlic to a high-powered blender. Blend until smooth. To thin out the sauce add the reserved cooking water, adding 1 tablespoon at a time until your desired consistency is reached. Add the sauce to the pasta and mix together until it’s evenly coated. Serve immediately.

Possible turning point?…

House minority leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) said, “The American people have won. The extreme MAGA Republicans have lost. It was a victory for the American people and a complete and total surrender by right-wing extremists who throughout the year have tried to hijack the congress.”

The challenge, maybe it’s an imperative, is to find ways to save ourselves collectively, to throw off the “pretense of self-sufficiency” and confess, without shame or recrimination, that we need one another.
